The duties and responsibilities of the President are few in number relative to other student organizations at Virginia Tech; their primary responsibility is to secure space for Spiel's meetings. Their other significant responsibility is to represent Spiel in interactions with other organizations (except for Technicon, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Technicon liason).

In short, the Treasurer is responsible for the money. He or she drafts the budget and defends it before the Budget Board and handles exchanges of money between Spiel and other parties.

The position of Technicon Liason was created in the spring of 2003 in order to improve communications and relations with Technicon, the convention held every spring by VTSFFC. The Liason is responsible for making sure Spiel has a presence at TCon. The Liason secures programming space, schedules games, and, if needed, encourages the members of Spiel (and the public) to participate.
